Renaming a page is usually harmless, until someone shares an old link or a campaign still points at the old address: then the visitor lands on an error page.

Every page and catalogue entry therefore gets an address built on a fixed, invisible id rather than on the name. When the name changes, the address stays valid, and every older address redirects automatically to the current one.

A crawl of the whole site then checks that every redirect really works.

What ports as-is

  • Addresses resolve from a fixed id: the name in it is just a label and still stays resolvable
  • Old paths redirect automatically, even where other redirects already exist
  • Moving a page automatically carries every reference along, rebuilds the site and checks the links
  • A rename updates the existing entry instead of creating a second one

What we build for you

  • Your own site's address scheme
